Our story

Our story

We are Mabel and Iris

What began many years ago as a shared love for jewelry grew into a lasting friendship, and into this little shop we built together.

Now it is time to close this chapter and spend more time with our families. Rather than leave our remaining pieces packed away, we would love to see them worn, gifted and treasured.

Mabel & Iris

Where it began

Two people noticing the same things

Neither of us set out to open a shop. It started with the two of us noticing the same things. A clasp that sat right. A stone that caught the light at a certain angle. A piece that looked as though it had been made with one particular person in mind.

For a long time that was simply something we shared. Then one day it seemed silly not to do something with it.

What we looked for

Pieces you reach for again

We were never interested in selling a great deal of anything. We wanted pieces a person would reach for again and again, and that would still feel right years later.

Quiet things, mostly. The kind you forget you are wearing until someone asks about them.

A piece of jewelry is not really finished until someone is wearing it.

Why we are closing

Time we would rather give elsewhere

There is no sad story here. Our families have grown, and the time we want to give them is time we no longer have to give the shop.

We would rather stop while we still love it than carry on until we do not. What is left is what is left, and we would like it to go to people who will actually wear it.

What you can count on

I

Thirty days to be sure

Live with it a while. If it is not right for you, write to us within thirty days and we will sort it out.

II

A real reply

Write to us and a person answers. No ticket numbers, no form letters.

III

Nothing is restocked

What you see is what is left. When a piece is gone, it is gone for good.

See what is left

Every piece still here is looking for someone. We hope one of them is looking for you.
